Hi, I’m Grayson Jarvis, a singer-songwriter, composer, and producer based in Detroit, Michigan. I write, record, mix, master, arrange, collaborate, mentor, and teach, but the most important thing I do is create.
Music is important work. That’s what I believe, and that’s why we must invest not only in the creative process, with its ebbs and flows, but also in discipline and strategy. We can’t create if we don’t dream, but if we aren’t creating, what’s the point?

Interested in songwriting or music production coaching?
Whether you’re a student, songwriter or artist, I would love to work with you. I’m a classically trained composer who has been writing and recording my own music for over ten years. I actively write today, producing and publishing all my own work. I received my undergraduate degree from Shenandoah University and my master's in Music Composition from the University of Michigan, where I also composed an orchestra piece that was performed by the University Philharmonia Orchestra.
I have several years of experience as a private tutor in music composition, songwriting and production, and all my lessons are remote over Zoom. I can teach classical composition and how to write, record, and produce your own songs. Whether you're a high schooler who is curious about songwriting or an artist who wants to take your craft to the next level (or get back in the groove), I'd be happy to connect.
My rates for composition/songwriting lessons are $45 for 30 mins and $60 for a full hour. If that doesn’t fall within your budget, please reach out. I would love to work out something that works for both of us.
